As i've been on leave this week, I've been taking things sort of easy.
I went out to a 40th birthday party on Saturday, and got kind of drunk.
Ok i was bladdered.
I had to get the night bus back to my mums home, as i was staying there overnight.
So i jumped on the N29 from Camden Town, and spotted a lovely creature sitting on the back seat.
I started chatting to him/her/it and asked if i was ok to take a picture.
Sure thing he replies.
Not a bad pic from my phone, even if i was blurry eyed myself.

Tirch ... It's only a word
In case people are wondering, which i doubt.
Tirch is a word that came about between and ex girlfriend and me last year.
Whilst we were talking about one of her friends, my ex was going to call her a tart or a bitch.
And hence the word tirch came about.
So in case people are thinking that i'm being called bad things, it's ok as the short stop who has been abusing me is a friend.
Thank you smee for sticking up for me :)

Kids have gone home
And i didn't realise how big and empty my flat is until I just got home.
Over 6 hours of driving and a very serious accident on the M11.
As i drove past on the way to dropping the kids home, There were two lorries on the hard shoulder, actually i will rephrase that 1 lorry on the hard shoulder, the other was off the road amongst the trees.
On the way back home, the work men had retrieved the second lorry from the trees, and all i can say is, if the driver of that lorry isn't dead he is a VERY LUCKY PERSON.
I hope he is okay though.
Well as i said my kids have gone home now , and it was one of the best times i've had with them for ages.
They were really well behaved, which annoyed my ex wife, as they seem to play her up.
At least i have a party to look forward to this weekend.

Annual Leave yet again
I don't know how I do it. I always seem to be on annual leave. Well at least I'm not sick this time.
I only have to wait until the end of November before I'm on leave once again. I might go to Scotland, and have a look at the Ochles out of the window.
Back to this leave though.
I'm relaxing away the week in the company of my kids, and they haven't driven me mad yet.
Going to let them go shopping tomorrow, so there goes the bank balance, and also see some friends.
Getting back to the subject of annual leave, next year I will have 10 weeks annual leave, that's a 5th of the year away from work, how am I supposed to fit my sick leave in now .... SHEESH

I'm fed up
My template has gone bananas and i can't put it right. For some unknow reason all my links are now at the bottom of the page, which is a bit of a bind.
So if anyone knows how to correct it.
HELP!!!!
Good Shift Tonight
Well apart from a little glitch, I had a quiet evening.
At 19:15 i noticed on the CCTV that the lights were out on a Metropolitian train sitting in my platform.
I looked at the tunnel mouth and realised that the Tunnel Lighting was on, utoh I thought.
So i rang the Line Controller and Information but nobody picks the phone up. So i send my CSA down to the platform to find out whats wrong.
All of a sudden the phone rings, It's the Information Assistant, Traction Current has been discharged on the eastbound, can i check out my Tunnel Telephone equipment.
Equipment checked, all in order, Line Assitant informed.
After the usual 7 minute delay for safety reasons, traction current recharged, service resume at19:22.
Then i get a phone call from another station.
As a rule you are supposed to answer the phone in the following manner.
Who you are.
Where you are.
If your making the call:
Who you are.
Where you are.
Why you are calling.
So the call goes like this.
Me- Supervisor ****** ******
Them- Is that Shoreditch.
Me- No it's ****** ******
them- OK
Phone put down.
If i was the SS at shoreditch i would answer Supervisor Shoreditch.
As i was chatting to the Station Master tonight before i went home. The line controller rings and askes me if i can check my Tunnel Telephone, because of the earlier incident.
Sheesh they are in the same office, don't these people talk to each other.

KINGS CROSS UNITED
I found a link on Annie Mole's blog to a wonderful blog, from a young Woman called Rachel.
She was on the Piccadilly Line train that was targeted on the 7th July 2005.
She has been writing about her experiences since that fateful day.
There is also an email address for any members of the general public who were on the train.
kingscrossunited@yahoo.co.uk
This is a group for survivors.
Good luck Rachel and I hope everything works out for you, and everyone else who was involved on that day.
2 Days Back At Work
And have i felt like i was away.
Answer NO.
I walked into a tip, the office looked like no one had bothered putting anything away.
Sunday was a very quiet day. Apart from a broken Northern Line.
Monday was just as quiet, apart from more of the Northern Line ran instead.
Luckily i only have another 3 shifts this week, and then i'm on leave again, which i'm looking forward too as I will have my kids for most of the week as there on half term.
On the LoveLife side of things, well these seem to be looking up, and if she reads this, then i'm probably in trouble, and i'll be abused later.

Northern Line Closure
From yesterday afternoon, the Northern Line service was suspended because the drivers think and feel it is unsafe to drive trains on the line.
I hope anyone who reads my blog will realize, that they aren't just doing this, just to be awkward, but are actually doing this as it is potentially dangerous to staff and the traveling public.
The safety features on a train are there to protect you.
There is a device called a trianstop, which is beside all signals, when the signal is RED the trainstop is risen into the air, on the train, there is a device called a tripcock, when a train passes a signal at danger, the tripcock connects with the trainstop and takes all the air off of the train, causing the emergency brakes to apply, and stops the train.
For a better explanation, check out District Daves London Underground site on signal matters.
If this device is fails, there is the potential for one train to collide with another or derail if going over a set of points.
So please bear with the drivers of the Northern Line, as they are putting everyone's health and safety first.

Single life
As you might remember myself and The Station Master are both single. Whilst looking at referalls to my blog I came across this http://www.socialpages.com.pk/110/underground.asp
Strange what's out there really
Thanks Mum
I'm relaxing on holiday, and i get a call off my mum.
The Northern line is not working, will this affect you.
No mum I'm on holiday.
Isn't it great to be reminded about work.
Weigh Day part 6
Well the weight is still coming off, and I'm happy about that.
This week I lost 1.5 lbs so in total that's 20.5 lbs I've lost close to 1 and a half stone in weight. I feel so much better for it too.
So now i weigh 16 stone 10 lbs or 234 lbs or 106 kilos
So as i was weighed today, its time to cheat, roll on the Chinese.

How Sad
As I'm on leave, i actually printed off a copy of the Evening Standard crossword, just because when I'm at work i do these everyday, apart from weekends obviously.
So I have done absolutely nothing today apart from sleep. So I'm going to get the old grey matter working for a while.

Failure or Liar
1- Go to www.google.com
2- Type in "Failure", without the quotes
3- Instead of hitting "Search" hit "I'm feeling Lucky"
4- See what comes up!
Now try the same with Liar
Isn't it typical
I have a whole week off, okay 9 days in total including rest days, and i wake up this morning,
With a back spasm,
So i'm enjoying myself, so far
Holiday so far
Ive been relaxing on leave, knowing full well that i will be pottering around for a week without having to see London.
My weekend was great, as i saw my kids for the first time in 6 weeks, and bloody hell they have grown.
The only trouble is the journey, I spent 6 hours on trains on Friday, and a further 5 hours in the car on Sunday.
But it's worth it just to see my kids.
Roll on half term, I just need to think what to do.

Its that time again
Holiday time once again.
Well after finishing a complete week, i find myself with a weeks leave. Oh how i work so hard.
I have my kids for the first 3 days then I'm just going to chill, unless a young lady invites me to dinner, lunch or anything else.
So work this week has been a fairly quiet affair, although i found out last night on the way home, a friend of mine who is a driver on the Bakerloo Line, in a rush to get away for the last train home, took the wrong signal and ended up going in the wrong platform at Queens Park.
Don't worry it was still safe to do so and no one was hurt.

Slow Days
Well the past 2 days have been reasonably quiet shifts.
So apart from chatting part of the shift away in northern accents. The Station Master and myself have had fairly peaceful shifts.
Don't ask about the accents, we all of a sudden started chatting and next thing is we know there's these 2 gordies on the phone. Daft isn't it.
So my colleague now has 2 days off and I'm stuck with Mr Wheeler Dealer tonight, and Mr Hello I'm Happy on Thursday.
Luckily for me, when i finish work on Thursday, I have a weeks annual leave.
Which I'm looking forward to.
Also i get to see my kids this weekend, which is the first time in 6 weeks. So roll on the weekend.

Back to normal
Well i should be going into a normal day at work today.
Hopefully the service has resumed and i will have a less then boring day.
Tedium
What a boring weekend at work.
No service, No Passengers, No nothing.
The highlight of my Sunday, was my eldest daughter ringing me and asking me for help with her homework.
Thanks Sinead (my niece) for the help, it really helped her with her music homework.
Thanks Mum
It was nice to go to my mums yesterday.
As she looks after me really well, not only did she tape the football for me, but i had a lovely cup of coffee made for me.
Then today i had a lovely dinner before going to work.
She's a real diamond is my mum.

Copper Update
I was interviewed by the British Transport Police today, about what happened with the Met Copper on Thursday.
Apparently the Copper made a nuisance of himself and has got himself into a load of trouble.
All i can say is, I tried my best but it obviously wasn't good enough.
God Knows ...
What i'm going to do today.
As my station is closed as part of engineering works. I hate these weekends because the boredom factor will be enormous.
The only thing that will be good about this weekend is i'm staying over at my mums tonight.
I haven't seen her for a couple of weeks and it will be nice to see her again.
She's a lovely little lady with a heart of gold.
