You may remember me blogging about 2 months ago about some trouble at work.
Well one of the little boys (CSA Useless Bugger for short) who couldn't take the punishment being dished out by me went of sick (just before the world cup I might add). He has been using the 7th July as a stress point, as apparently he was in Bali when the terroist attacks took place there a few years back. It should also be noted that he has since gone back to Bali twice.
He finally resumed back to work tonight, and as it was his first night back, he only did a 5 hour shift. About 18:45 he walks up to me and asks when he can have his meal break?. Er what meal break are you on about, you're doing a 5 hour shift and you want a meal break too. I should coco.
I then notice that he is on the phone top someone. I'm now thinking, oh well he will book off again.
A few minutes later the phone rings and it is my Group Station Manager on the phone.
Now I'm thinking 2 things:
Firstly, bloody hell what is my GSM doing still at work at this time of night.
Secondly, what is he going to say to me about the meal break situation.
Now here comes the nice suprise, my GSM said as he is only working 5 hours he doesn't see why CSA Useless Bugger needs to have a meal break, because under the framework of agreements (LUL Working Standards) you can work upto 5 1/2 hours without a meal break.
However as CSA Useless Bugger has worn out any leaway he has on our stations, because of his piss taking, (and I know more about piss taking on this job as I've done a fair bit of it myself).
So under guidance from my GSM he was given a 15 minute break (generous aren't I).
His time to finish is 22:00 and at 21:50 I get a call, is it ok if I can get changed to go home.
NO, end of conversation.
He left his position on the gate line at 21:58, Tomorrow he is doing his full 8 hour shift and because he is on medication, he can't work past 22:00 or before 07:00.
So he was told tonight that when he is on a 14:00 start his meal break is at 16:30 until 17:00, if he is upset about this, do you really think I'm bothered.

Why Is IT!!!
You come home from working a late turn, you go to bed about 3am, and at 8am you get woken by ...
BEEP, BEEP, BEEP of a bloody dustbin wagon reversing up your road, and then rap a tap tap, from the postman with a recorded delivery.
I'm just glad that I'm now wake.
MUTTER
One Unders
So far my late turns have flown past, I worked on the gateline for the past two shifts, as one of my staff has been suffering severe back pains for the past 5 or so months.
We had a good chat as he was on long term sick, almost 3 months worth, he is one of those type of staff who will go out of his way to help you. Be it customer or staff.
However Monday night the Victoria line was completely panned because of a person under a train at Tottenham Hale. The service was suspended through out the whole of the evening peak, and on going on certain reports, the person who jumped, killed themselves, and from the time it took to remove the body, it took at least 2 or 3 attempts to remove the body. There other details but I can't really go into that much detail.
Also the Bakerloo line had a one under too. But no details on that at all.
Todays service was fairly good with only a few hic cups.
The only sneaky thing about todays shift, was that a certain Miss Kate Yay, snuck through my station and as she is very shy, she text me from a train telling me she saw me and snuck past behind me.

1st Day Back
I arrived into St Pancras at 14:12 all nice and eager to start back to work.
As I wandered down to King Cross, I approached the entrance only to fins all thge gates pulled across, I casually strolled up to a member of staff to ask what was going on.
A power failure had black out most of central London, so I was going to have to walk to my station.
I don't mind walking, but as I've been suffering with a lower back spasm since Wednesday, I thought, ouch wheres the bus.
I finally arrived after walking to work (helped my back no end), to a blacked out station, on minimum lighting, contractors everywhere because of a possesion, and a sweatbox of an office.
After being filled in on the details of what has happened over the past 3 weeks, which ncluded the contractors buggering up the alarm panels, the tiling work being stopped for 3 weeks by Westminster Council, and a few other things which made me laugh, especially one of my colleagues going to a station next door to help it reopen and instead of getting in the front with the driver, rode with the passengers to the next open station, and then came back to my station, and wondered why the trains didn't stop at the closed station. And this is a fellow Supervisor
The power finally returned at 14:45 and the AC Unit kicked in, normality resumed.
So apart from the multitude of contractors, ballast trains, noise, dust, fumes, and a load of other crap, a normal day was had by all.

Your Help Needed ... Urgently
As Posted By My Colleague, Tube Dude:
Listen I need your help, big style.
I have recently met a delightful young man.
Carl, is 11 years old, and is suffering from a deep-seated and inoperable brain tumour. Those in the know have told Carl that he has only about 6 months left to live.
Now, this young man has grasped his life with both hands and as I understand it, living life flat out on max.
He has one wish, and that is to get himself into the Guinness world record book, by collecting huge amounts of post cards.
This is where we come in.
What I want you, my readers to do, is to send the guy a post card or 2 or 3 or more. Please don’t write “get well” or stuff like that ‘cos he knows that he wont.
Just put a simple “Hi”
If you run a blog, please feel free to either link to this, copy it, or just try and get your readers to do the same and send him a card.
Please send your cards to:

Week 2
So I've come to the end of my second week of leave.
I've been completely lazy, doing nothing apart from going out on a date on Friday, and getting totally bladdered on Saturday for my 39th birthday.
My date went well and it looks like i might be seeing the lady in question again soon, we went to a lovely quiant little pub in Oundle, near Peterborough, and it was such a lovely setting that I will be going there again.
I really enjoyed myself on the Saturday and ended up going out with 12 women, yes 12 women, and boy was it an eye opener, within 10 minutes of arriving, I had seen one of the womens knickers twice, nice knickers in the style of Wonder Woman but a lot more tight and skimpy, I didn't get home until 05:00, it's good to know i haven't forgotten how to have a good beer.
So now only 7 days left.

Life Is So Confusing
I was sitting quietly at home this evening reading a book, when all of a sudden i get a text from No2 daughter.
"Can I live with you when I'm twelve"?
So now my head has been thrown into turmoil as i don't know what is going on at her home with my ex wife to make her ask.
I spoke to my ex around 21:00 to let her know about this, and she doesn't know if anything is wrong either.
I am going to look into it, as by next year i will have done 20 years for LUL and to tell you the truth it's about time i had a change.
I've been toying with the idea of looking to change my job and apply to British Gas.
A £20,000 pay cut but al least I wont have to commute 70 miles and spend 3 hours a day travelling to London and back. Also it's regular hours instead of all the shift work I've done since I was 18.
Floyd's first leader, Syd Barrett, dies

Members of Pink Floyd in 1967 (l to r): Roger Waters, Nick Mason, Syd Barrett and Rick Wright.
The original lead singer of my favorite band has died.
Syd Barrett, the troubled Pink Floyd co-founder who spent his last years in reclusive anonymity, has died, the band said Tuesday. He was 60.
A spokeswoman for the band said Barrett died several days ago, but she did not disclose the cause of death. Barrett had suffered from diabetes for years.
The surviving members of Pink Floyd — David Gilmour, Nick Mason, Roger Waters and Richard Wright — said they were “very upset and sad to learn of Syd Barrett’s death.”
“Syd was the guiding light of the early band lineup and leaves a legacy which continues to inspire,” they said in a statement.
Barrett co-founded Pink Floyd in 1965 with Waters, Mason and Wright, and wrote many of the band’s early songs. The group’s jazz-infused rock and drug-laced, multimedia “happenings” made them darlings of the London psychedelic scene.
I've listened to Pink Floyd ever since i was a meer 10 year old, and 29 years later I still seem to hear one of there tunes daily.
I saw Floyd when I was only 13 when they first performed The Wall, and it's the best concert I have ever been to.

A Week Of Leave Part ii
I didn't think i would be doing much this holiday, but so far apart from Tuesday, I haven't stopped.
Have I had a lie in, appart from this morning NO.
Wednesday I went out to the gym and also saw me visiting weight watchers, I can't belive that I have now lost 38lbs and I'm down to 15 stone 6lbs or 216lbs or 98kg that considerin I started at 18 stone 3lbs or 255lbs or 116kg, I feel pretty chuffed.
If I can find an old picture that i used to have I might actually put a comparison up.
My delivery had finally arrived, on Thursday. 2 and a half days just for some bloody cutlery, don't get me rwrong this was all part of a larger order.
I also went out on a lunch time date, with a lovely lady called Tina, and although we got on fine, we will remain just friends.
Yesterday I spent most of my day over at a friends house putting her house up her new tent (bloody thing almost killed me), and sorting out her phones as they seem to have been fried in Tuesdays blackout.
Oh I didn't tell you that did I, the National Grid in Northants was struck by lightning so all of northants and approx 250,000 were without power, luckily my PC and everything else still works but some of her stuff was fried, I'm glad i have a surge protection device on my PC.

Glad I'm On Leave
I just read one of my comments, and I'm glad I'm not at my station this week.

News about your station.
Your old Fire Control Panel has been decomission (in error possible) before the new one has been brought properly on-line .... Oh dear.
So (probably afer much stroking of chins- someone made a decision), to keep the station open- The ticket office is closed and the ticket gates left open so that the staff can patrol the station.
Enjoy your A/L, you'll no doubt come back to the same old shite,
SORRY!from One2Many.
Oh Joy
I Don't Know Whats Happened.
I think my blog might have flown away.
Everytime I open up my home page, it's a blank screen. It was there last night when I went to my bed, but I woke this morning to a blank canvas.
ARGH.
White Screen Of Death, I only hope not.
PHEW:
It's back, I wonder if blogger scares other people the way it scares me,

The Joy Of Relaxation
It's been a nice start to the holiday so far,
Saturday night after setting up a set of bunk breds for a friend, we went out for a spot of dinner and I spent the night on the sofa.
Sunday, I spent more time around at mt friends and had a BBQ, after spending a good time at my friends, I finally came home, and spent a joyful night on the PC and watching the TV, and fell asleep on guess what ... the sofa...
Monday, I woke about 8 am with a cramp in my left calf, I get quite a lot of these lately, not sure whats causing it, after a few hours the pain finally receeded enough for me to go to the gym, I'm glad I'm off as it will give me a chance to get back into it again. I then spent a pleasant evening chatting to kateyay on line before finally sitting down to watch tv and guess what fell asleep on the sofa again.
So far

Leave At Last
Thats it I'm on leave now until 22nd July. HOORAY.
But during my last day there, I found out that although the new office has been built and is ready for us to move in and should have happened this weekend, only for a monumental cockup at a different station, which will see us waiting another 6 weeks whilst a formal investigation takes place.
So at least I know where I will be situated when i return.
