Five different events going on in the local area.

Party in the ticket hall area, with lots of singing and dancing.

22:00 Last Night Of The Year 2006

The party has started, I've taken the stereo from ticket office and plugged into the GLAP,

Virgin Radio party all night, lots of fun and dancing, and that was just from the staff.

Passengers very happy especially singing Hi HO Silver Lining at the tops of there voices as they dance through the ticket hall..

Thank you Virgin Radio.

21:35 Last Night Of The Year 2006

Visit by the Performance manager, nice to see him out and about, he stays with us and chats for about 20 minutes.

Also the AG1's arrived with a party gift from the management team.
1 x bottle Coke.
1 x packet of Pringles.
1 x packet of Biscuits.
1 x packet of Kettle chips.
1 x box of chocolate rolls.
2 x croissants ???
To be shared between both of us.

21:00 Last Night Of The Year 2006

I made my way to the gate line and spent the remainder of the evening in the ticket hall area keeping my night turn SAMF company and having fun.

20:25 Last Night Of The Year 2006

I leave Kings Cross on the way to GPS, when I'm offered a drop of Cava by three happy customers, as a drop of drink isn't worth my job, I kindly refuse the offer and say a big thank you and wish the revellers a Happy New Year (see I'm not all bah humbug).

This has put me in a good mood now, hopefully it lasts.

As I walk in the door at GPS my late turn colleague says, what time do you call this.

Don't worry he is only joking as I'm actually booked to start at 23:00.

I take over control of the station and wish him a Happy New Year as he heads home to see it in with his wife.

Only 12 hours of my work shift left and into my first of many coffees.

20:15 Last Night Of The Year 2006

As I walk through Kings Cross St Pancras, I get my first New Year Kiss of the night.

Thanks to the lovely and very sexy blonde RCI (some LUL staff will know who she is).

20:10 Last Night Of The Year 2006

I arrive at London St Pancras and realise I will have to do the reverse journey at 08:55 tomorrow morning.

All the happy revellers get off the train and make there way into London.

19:50 Last Night Of The Year 2006

First drunken revellers of the New Year get on at Luton, there feeling festive, I'm not.

There's a young woman with bright blue hair on my train.

19:10 Last Night Of The Year 2006

Arrived at Wellingborough station and more passengers on the platform, then have been present all week.

New Year Bonus, the train is bang on time.

18:58 Last Night Of The Year 2006

Three minutes down the road and I've tripped up on someone's rubbish bags left out for the bin men tomorrow.

Hint to owner of said bags, bin men don't work New Years Day.

18:55 Last Night Of The Year 2006

I've decide to blog through out my last night shift of 2006, unfortunately my work PC sometimes doesn't add my text to my blog.

I've left my house for the 15 minute walk down to the station to catch my train to London.

Last Day Of The Year.

Whilst everyone is out celebrating the New Year, I'll be at work making sure my punters are ok and safe to travel on the Underground.

I will be working with a multitude of staff through out the combine, and hope you all have a good time.

Try to come home safely, and if you happen to travel using the Tube, remember to wish us all a happy new year.

If you want to give any of us a nice peck on the cheek feel free, I'm more then happy.

I Almost Forgot This Picture.

You've heard of Chicken In A Basket.
How about Turkey In A Bucket.

All because my sister forgot to take it out of the freezer early.

Remembering 2006

It lasts 365 days, and there is one day left.

The End.

Dieting The Night Turn Supervisor Way.

Turn away now if your a Vegetarian

After all the obligatory Christmas foods, I decided that I must watch what I eat from now on.

So here is what I have mostly eaten since the 27th.

Wednesday:
I woke up to a fried breakfast of Eggs, Bacon, Black Pudding and beans.
Before I went to work I had a Morrison's Chicken Tikka Masala and took two obligatory Turkey sandwiches.

Thursday:
After getting home and then popping out for some foodage for my nights, I popped into MD's and bought a big breakfast and two sausage and egg McMuffins.

When I woke up I cooked a large steak, mushrooms and super noodles.

Friday:
I didn't eat yesterday morning but did have the second half of the large steak, with mushrooms but no noodles.

Saturday:
Haddock sandwiches for breakfast and I'm currently tucking into a huge fry up of
2 Eggs, 1 Gammon slice, 4 Sausages, 4 slices of Black Pudding and a million mushrooms.

Tomorrow morning I'm meeting up with Barry for another MD's brekkie, and will then have the send round of the huge fry up.

God knows what I'll be eating on Monday.

I'm just glad I'll be going back to weight watchers on Wednesday.

Oh I forgot the multitude of Crisps and KitKats especially dunked into hot coffee

A Few More Contractors

It looks like I will have contractors working at various parts of my station, clanging, banging, smacking and wholloping the walls as they replace the old tiles.

At least I have company tonight, tomorrow should be contractor free.

At least I'm free of them for the rest of my nights, so peace and quite will prevail.

Oh bugger forgot I'm open all night New Years Eve.

Falling Back To Sleep

I dozed off again about 5:30, so i set my alarm clock for 7:30.

Now it's 7:30 and I woke up to a very strange dream.

Bob Geldof shaving his nipples, the only reason I can think of this is because i must have been thinking of Pink Floyd The Wall.

One Thing About Working Nights

It totally knackers you, my sleep pattern is fecked already, four hours sleep yesterday and only five today.

I tried to go back to sleep, but no joy there, so up I get and find myself messing with the PC as usual.

Bloody nights, and I know I have another four left.

How To Confuse A Person In Charge

I had a few contractors in last night, only 15 or so.

When one of the SPIC's arrived to sign in, he showed me his entry permit, as I read it, I told him he can't work at my station.

Looking confused, he asked me why not.

I told him because he is impersonating a Station Supervisor, no I'm not he exclaimed.

Yeah you are and you can't work here.

Who am I supposed to be impersonating.

Me I replied.

I told him to check my name badge and all of a sudden the penny dropped.

There I was, after 18 years on the job, and for the first time, I'm facing a contractor with the exact same first and last name as myself.

A Couple Of Pictures Of My Kids At Chrimbo

Chritmas Day with dad.

Boxing Day and going home to mum.

Nights

Are going to sleep at 13:15 and waking feeling like death at 17:15 and not being able to go back to sleep.

That's that one thing that I really hate about nights, and the fact that I think I have some sort of throat infection coming back, either that or a flu type bug.

Only five more to go and counting.

Tick, tock, ti

See even my clock is broken.

Currently

Sitting at home after my first night shift watching 16 Blocks and eating a Morrisons chocolate trifle.

Oh well back to the diet next week.

Nothing Beats...

Sitting in my office at 3:15, music blaring, listening to Led Zep's Dazed and Confused, and playing table drums.

Ah the joy of having no contractors on site overnight.

Bloody Hell.

I've just eaten 24 chicken satay and dip thingys.

12 were just plain chicken satay, whilst the rest were chicken tikka satay things.

Nice peanut dip too.

Christ I'm bored at work.

Christmas Has Finally Finished

It's 22:50 and I'm back at work.

A six day shift of nights and a dead station, a train in my platform and not one single solitary person boards or alights the train.

The only people on my station, myself and the late turn CSA.

That's it nothing happening, boredom and twiddling of fingers commence.

Excellent Christmas

I've had a blinding Christmas, my kids loved there presents, what with Heelys for my son and No 2 daughter falling all over the floor, and my eldest getting a tracksuit and an MP3 player.

I had my kids for five and a half days, they saw both of my sisters and my eldests husband and kids.

Christmas night was a bit emotional as I realized I was taking them home the next day, so with a tear in my eye I put my son to bed and then dealt with my girls, and what with the eldest being a bit pissy, I had a good time.

Boxing day I dropped them home to there mum and then went around to my ELDEST (she reads this and me being the youngest) sister and had a very good night, with alcohol and food flowing.

Nights from tomorrow and for the rest of the week until Jan 2nd 2007.

Have a good one.

No More Work Til After Christmas.

That's it my final shift before Christmas has finished, I left work and went straight of to Southend to collect my kids and it was a joy to see three smiling faces.

The journey back was OK, apart from the kids winding each other up.

I bumped into one of the AG1's (Secretary's) who works on my group at Liverpool Street, and she told my kids that she has heard lots about them, and seen there pictures.

Then it was all the way home and pizza for four.

The kids are in bed and I'll be heading that way soon, and I've made sure the kids know not to wake me to early.

Floods.

I just found out that a little (she's only 4' 5") and I mean little friend of mine and who lives in a cupboard in Scotland, was caught up in the flooding this week in Scotland, she is ok, but she had to take a couple of days off work as she is to short to paddle through the water, and she had lost her snorkel and stilts.

My god I totally forgot that she is the big FORTY in January.

Attack Of the Killer Draw And A Few Other Things.

As my SAMF was working away merrily in the ticket office, he was sorting out his cash draw and as he pulled the draw open, he was attacked in a very sneaky way.

The draw in question jumped off its runners and tried and failed to eat his foot.

Or in layman's terms "the bloody draw fell off".

No one was hurt apart from the floor, which had a little sniffle.

So with a little bit of cussing, swearing and physical abuse, I did a temporary fix on the draw, but still had to put out a job, to get it fixed properly.

A little while later my SAMF decided to give me some more work, by blocking up the Ticket Office toilet, when the contractor arrived and started work on the blockage, he took the top off the drainage pipe, and much to my great pleasure, the smell of raw sewage and other odours swamped the room with eye watering speed.

But the most enjoyable thing today, was getting a phone call from LIA explaining that the train that came through my station at 7 am would be out of service, as the Train Driver refused to take a mobile train radio with him, so the train had to run empty.

Only one more shift left for me before Christmas, and the best thing is I get to collect all my kids.

I go back to work on the 27th and you guessed it, I'm working nights, good job I'm single as i don't have to worry about upsetting anyone else.

MySpace & Twitter.

I've been messing about with MySpace for the past couple of weeks, and as you might notice I have a few links to me on my right hand tool bar.

If you check out my MySpace profile you might be a bit worried to see some of the people I have added to my friends.
Don't worry I'm not a debauched deviant or anything like that, although I do have a broad outlook on life, I'm just adding them for fun, although I do speak to a few of my new friends.

As you may have seen from and earlier post, the reason for me adding anyone and anything, is because of a challenge set between myself and Barry to see who will be the first to reach the 2 million mark, not that either of us are really likely to reach that score.

If you have your own MySpace profile feel free to add yourself.

Also Barry introduced me to Twitter, and I must admit, I rather like this new toy, and as today is my first day playing, I have had minutes of fun with it.

My Christmas Treat To Myself.

Talk About Laughing.

I had a really good day at work this morning and even though I was working I had a visitor for the first few hours of my shift. My colleague from next door.

Although almost every line had fallen over with only five lines working normally at any one time, every time a line recovered another fell over and took it's place, I was having such a good laugh with my colleague from next door that i almost but didn't put out silly P.A's.

Things like because of lack of interest the Northern line couldn't be bothered to turn up for work this morning, and putting them out in different accents.

It was a completely mental start to the day, with just plain silliness and confused contractors everywhere.

Oh and talking of contractors, last night they place a great big metal bar directly across an entrance to one of the rooms at my station, to gain access to the room we would have had to take the bar down and then replace it again.

Talk about good planning, even that didn't upset me.

I can't believe I've been buzzing all day.

As for my interview, it wasn't much just a single question that I would like to have answered when we have meetings with mangers starting in February.

First Day Back

After having a nice week off I was back to work this morning.

I stayed at my mothers for a couple of days, and it was nice to be pampered for a bit and having somebody else cook is just fine in my books.

I did help out mum hasn't been to good , what with shoulder pains and being very stiff, she is 73 after all.

I woke up this morning at 4:00 and thought instead of going back to sleep like a normal person, I'll lie in bed and read.

5:15 and I finally got up , I had a staff taxi booked, which I had to catch at 6:13 and after making a connection at 6:35 I arrived at work at 6:45 much to the annoyance of the night man.

"I thought you were going to get here by 8:30" he says.

"Well" says I "if you had text me I could have had another hour in bed instead of arriving this early"

My colleague had to wait around for another 90 minutes before his first train home.

I also found out that I am to be interviewed tomorrow by the Metropolitan Line magazine.

EEK!!! Fame at last, yeah right.

Oh well only 4 more shifts until I'm off for the weekend.

A Strange Thing Happened Today

I just happened to move my T shirt a little bit, when all of a sudden I heard, tap, tap, tap on my table.

I looked down thinking what was that, and bouncing across the table was the ball baring from the end of my nipple piercing.

Something I Didn't Expect To Be Doing Tonight.

As I sat at home this evening, just relaxing, resting and reading and getting ready to watch some football.

My mobile bing bonged, I had a text from my daughter asking me if I know my 10 Commandments and if I did could I text her the them.

Being a catholic and having had religious stuff drummed into my by my mother since I was a youngster, it was no real problem, as my sisters will remember the trials and tribulations of the Sunday service.

I never ever thought I would be texting words like , Shalt, Thy, Covet and Thou to anybody let alone my daughter.

The things us dads do for our kids.

It's worth while though when you get a text back say.

Thanks, Love u

It's Amazing How Much You Miss A Watch.

I've been with out a watch for the past three or four weeks, as I thought bugger sending my old watch away to Casio for a £40 battery.

However going through some of my cupboard draws I found and old watch which was also dead. So £4.95 later and I'm watch worthy again.

I got used to using the clock on my mobile and anywhere else I noticed a clock.

Strange how you just get on with it.

It's Nice Being Woken To ....

.... SPLAT .... WAAAAHHHH

That's the first sound that I heard this morning, and then the voice of a desperate mother screaming about washing dirty clothes and the poor child having to go home to change again before school.

Well the past couple of days have been fairly tedious, just relaxing at home and reading my book and listening to music all day, oh and being text by a friend at 1:50am, good job I was awake and reading in bed. God only knows what the response would be if I had been asleep.

Bloody hell I feel like a student.

Big Sis Is Watching You

I was chatting with my older sister today about my blog (she'll kill me for this).

She told what a joy it was to see a picture of my pierced nipple on my blog, made her scream.
Sorry sis I'll try to be a little less graphic.

7 Days Off

After a hectic and sometimes frantic week, I have annual leave.

I plan to just get the last of the Chrimbo shopping, and just relax.

I might blog, then again I might not.

If I don't I will be back to work on Sunday week.

Guilty/Not Guilty

I have a table.

It's an inaminate object.

It sits in middle of my living room.

It does nothing.

Yet this morning I am accusing my table of the most hineous of crimes.

It jumped up and crashed into my shin. It has hurt my shin. It caused me to swear.

In my own defence my words were "F**king table", which left me wondering why I was swearing at an inaminate object.

It made me hobble, it made me limp, it made me rub my shin like a little girlie and pull and a funny face both at the same time.

I leave the judgement to you.

Guilty or Not Guilty.

Busy Day

The day started off a bit surreal, I had a conversation with one of my early turn colleagues at a different station.

He has bought himself a sewing machine, so that he can take up the length of his curtains, and he might some embroidery. I left my colleague thinking, I didn't just have a conversation about sewing and stuff did I.

When i got to my own station, I had a call from the Line Controller to deal with a problem on the train, on the way back from the train, I just happened to notice that the bannister was hanging from the wall and touching the floor.

As I lifted it up, I ended up with a large piece of wood in my hands, AHH.

So from 13:00 onwards one set of stairs at my station were cordoned off, and manned (hang on that's sexist) staffed, their that's better, anyway back to the story.

So the stairs were cordoned off and staffed, but as we are a generous lot at our station we opened it up for the evening peak, otherwise over crowding might have taken over.

During the peak a few fools who had already been on the sauce, decided to try and knock all the cones down the stairs, but luckily they stayed put.

By the time I left my late turn colleague was
